Judicial Warrant

  • Signed by a judge or magistrate judge.
  • Authorizes law enforcement to make an arrest, search, or seizure.
  • Allows law enforcement to enter your home or workplace.
  • A warrant signed by an immigration judge is not a judicial warrant.
  • Judicial warrants must be complied with.

Administrative Warrant

  • Formal written document authorizing law enforcement to make an arrest or seizure.
  • Can be signed by an immigration judge or immigration officer.
  • Does not authorize a search.
  • Does not allow law enforcement to enter your home or workplace.
